About Me

Just Chillin
My name is Mike Meservey. I have a beautiful wife named Pam and a 16 month old son named Carson. We love healthy living and enjoying life to it's fullest. We love being outside whether biking, hiking, swimming, or just taking the dogs for a walk. I have been active in sports my whole life and and stayed pretty skinny which i have always hated. However, over the past few years I have not had the best eating or exercise habits and reached the 200 lb mark. I didn't mind the weight at first because I liked being bigger for the first time in my life. After a while I really didn't like the way I looked. I would see vacation photos at the beach or photos that were taken of me at the pool and was grossed out by my love handles etc... Every part of my body looked completely out of proportion.

Before I go on i have to tell you, I also have a mild case of a neurolical disorder called tourette syndrome and have been on Clonodine for 15 years or so. This all ties in together I promise. I had a couple of bad episodes of ticking (involuntary body or facial movements). This particular one was an eye blink that was so bad that I could barely keep my eyes open half the time. Anything that made my eyes squint like wind or sunlight would set it off. I started wondering if the meds that I had been prescribed 15 years ago were doing anything for me now. When the ticking finally died down I decided to go off the medicine cold turkey. Clonodine is a blood pressure medicine and since I stopped using it my blood pressure was high every time I checked it. I hoped that it was just the shock to my body of being on it so long and then quitting.
So, there I was, high blood pressure, eating poorly, and not exercising. Great combination.
I hadn't gone to a neurologist since I was young so I found one in town and set up an appointment to meet with him. I was very interested in ways to keep my brain healthy as well as my body. One part of his advice that stuck with me was that cardio was very good for the brain. I was determined to keep myself as healthy as possible, mentally and physically because I did not want take another medicine or have ticking anymore. I fully believed that a complete change in my lifestyle would make that dream possible for me. So I started jogging. The first time I went out, I made it less than 1/2 mile before I thought i was going to die and turned around and went back to the house. I stuck with it though and had a goal of jogging at least 3 times a week. I kept pushing myself to run further each time i jogged and soon reached distances of 4 to 5 miles. I felt fantastic and was losing weight like crazy. I weighed between 165 to 170 lbs after 3 months. I had also changed my eating habits. I didn't cut everything out of my diet but rather I cut down on portion sizes, stopped drinking soda pop and also stopped getting dessert after every meal. Dream come true!! My blood pressure was back to normal and no ticking as well. My next goal was to get back to 200 lbs but healthy and ripped.
I had lower back pain for many years of my life and decided I needed to strengthen the muscles around those joints. I went to Youtube.com and typed in back exercises. the second video option down was titled MY BACK WORKOUT-Scott Herman. This video led me to the next step in healthy living and changed my life forever. He has over 400 exercises on his youtube page. He explains everything about them including proper form and tricks to getting the weight into position (example) dumbbell chest press. I have been following all of his muscle gain routines and have seen a huge difference in strength and endurance at the gym. His site has given me so much knowledge and is helping me achieve my goal. I have been able to help friends achieve their goals as well. I've gained more confidence in myself and the way I look, and have now become a Independent Team Beachbody Coach. I had contemplated going back to school to become a personal trainer but now that I have become a coach online I can help people all over the world. So THANK YOU to everyone who helped me get to this point in life. I love all of you and look forward to the future.
